1. Do I need a passport?

Yes, a passport book is required for international travel by air; a passport card is not accepted for international air travel.

Please take a moment to locate each traveler's passport at this time to double check that the expiration date is at least six months after the date you return home from your vacation. Some airlines enforce this six month validity rule even when the country you're visiting doesn't, so it is recommended to follow this rule to prevent any potential issues.

2. How do I book my room?

The wedding couple has paid a deposit to pre-reserve rooms at a locked in rate for their guests for travel Tuesday 1/23/24 through Tuesday 1/30/24 (7 nights). You can choose to stay for fewer nights (minimum three-night stay required) or add additional nights, based on availability.

A $200 per person non-refundable deposit is due by 10/5/23 to book your room. It is good to book your room early to ensure you get the room type you want. Final payment is due by 10/5/23.

The first step to book your room is to complete the online reservation form. Once your form is submitted, Jodi will be following up with you directly regarding next steps for booking your room (only one reservation form needs to be submitted for each room).

3. When is the deadline to book my room?

The $200 per person non-refundable deposit to book your room is required by 10/5/23. It is good to book your room early to ensure you get the room type you want. Final payment is due by 10/5/23.

4. What happens if I don't book with EverAfter Travel?

The wedding couple has paid a deposit to pre-reserve rooms for their group. They have signed a group contract with the resort committing to a minimum number of rooms that allows them to offer additional benefits for their guests. Only rooms booked in the room block through EverAfter Travel count towards this contract.

There are several reasons why you should honor the couple's wishes and book your stay through the room block with EverAfter Travel:

The wedding couple has worked with EverAfter Travel to negotiate a contract for the group. This includes a special set rate and includes transportation.
Groups are given priority status at the resort, so you might miss out on some VIP treatment if you book separately.
Groups are given priority room assignments, so if you book directly, you're likely getting a room that couldn't be sold to a group. It will be leftover inventory, probably in an undesirable location away from everyone else.
Groups are given priority in terms of an oversold situation. If the resort over sells, your group is protected but an individual reservation is not and you could be "walked" or bumped to a different resort.

Guests who do not book within the group contract unfortunately:

Will not get the group rates.
Will have to pay up front versus over time.
Will not receive any pre-departure trip support from EverAfter Travel.
Unfortunately EverAfter Travel cannot assist with travel arrangements made outside of the group or assist in the event of an emergency.
May be required by the resort to pay an event fee and/or day pass to attend wedding events.

5. How are my flights booked?

Wedding guests typically book their own flights directly with their preferred airline. The closest airport to the Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres resort is the Cancun International Airport (CUN).

6. How do I get from the airport to the resort and back?

Shared round-trip airport transfers are included in the room rates listed further below. Once you book your flights, you can click here to submit your flight details to EverAfter Travel which will be used for coordinating your transportation from the airport to the resort and back.

7. What are the cancellation policies?

Cancellation policies apply once booked.

-If individual room is canceled by 10/5/23, no penalty will be charged (initial $200 per person deposit remains non-refundable).

-If individual room is canceled 10/6/23 or later, there is a 100% room revenue penalty.

8. How do I purchase travel insurance?

Optional travel insurance is available and EverAfter Travel encourages travelers to consider purchasing insurance as it can not only cover things like trip delays/cancellations, but it can also provide medical coverage while you're traveling just in case something happens - this is very important because your own medical insurance typically does not include international coverage.

When you are attempting to get a quote, the amount of insurance needed is typically the total value amount of your vacation package. Also, you will need to enter F030702 as the Travel Agency ID (ACCAM#) for EverAfter Travel when prompted.

*IMPORTANT things to note about Allianz Travel Insurance:

-You can call and speak to one of the insurance agent experts directly if you have any policy questions at 1.866.884.3556

-Insurance coverage starts the day after it is purchased

-You can only add Cancel Anytime coverage WITHIN 14 days of deposit

-Cancel Anytime insurance is not available for purchase online - you will need to call and speak to an insurance agent directly

-Coverage for pre-existing conditions only applies if insurance is purchased WITHIN 14 days of deposit

-You need to update your insurance coverage immediately for any trip components added at a later date that you want covered e.g. flights

-There are several policy types to choose from and the policy price is determined by the following: the amount of insurance you need, your age(s) and the specific policy type you choose

9. What are the COVID-19 protocols?

-USA residents are NOT required to complete/submit a COVID-19 test for entry into Mexico at this time, however, taking a pre-travel test is recommended by EverAfter Travel. Many travelers have had good experiences with getting COVID-19 tests at places like their local Walgreens and CVS.

-You may need to wear a face covering on your flights, in the airports, and during your transportation vehicles. Upon arrival in Mexico, you may be subject to health screenings including temperature checks.

NOTE: Travelers were previously required to complete an immigration form online prior to arrival at the Cancun airport (or complete a paper version passed out by flight attendants on the plane), however, this is no longer required.

-Guests may be asked to wear a face covering in designated indoor spaces like: the lobby, retail stores, elevators, and waiting areas of common facilities (e.g. spa, beauty salon, restaurants/bars, etc.). Guests are not required to wear face coverings at the beach, the pool, or in restaurants/bars when actively eating and/or drinking.

NOTE: Effective 6/12/22, the U.S. is no longer requiring travelers two years and older returning to the U.S. from an international destination via air to show proof of a negative antigen (or PCR) COVID-19 test taken within one day prior to their return flight to the U.S.

-Quintana Roo (the state that your resort is in) introduced a departure tax of about $11 per person for international visitors and you may be asked to show proof of payment at the Cancun airport before you fly home.
