Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres Wedding Review: Lexi & Collin
Why did you decide to have a destination wedding?
We decided to have a destination wedding because a lot of our friends & family live out of state or country. For the price of a wedding, we wanted a vacation included as well! I am an ER nurse so it was nice to have some time off in a beautiful place.
What were your biggest concerns about planning a destination wedding? What were you struggling with the most before reaching out to EverAfter Travel?
My biggest concern was that my friends & family wouldn’t like the resort and that was absolutely not the case. I was struggling to get started before reaching out to Jodi, I had no idea where to begin!
What were your "must haves" for your destination wedding? What were the deciding factors for choosing your resort?
We chose Majestic Elegance in Costa Mujeres because we had been there already and loved our experience. It was a lot less anxiety provoking planning the wedding there since we knew what to expect having already been a guest. We wanted a unique venue so the Sky Gazebo was a must have!
Tell me about your wedding e.g. events, venues, special touches, etc. How many guests did you invite to your destination wedding and how many people ended up attending? If you're comfortable sharing, how much was the total cost of your destination wedding celebration (not including things like travel expenses, your dress, etc.)?
We had 30 guests (not including ourselves). The total cost was $10,000 which was 1/3rd of what we would have paid to have a wedding at home.
Was there anything you splurged on for your destination wedding and if so, did you feel like it was worth it?
The sky venue and yes it was absolutely worth it! We also splurged on the plunge pool for our room which was not worth it for us. We didn’t even get in the pool once because we preferred to be social and use the other pools. A few of our family members got upgraded to the plunge so we wish we would’ve gone with the junior suite with possibility of being upgraded.
Was there anything you tried to save on for your destination wedding and if so, did you feel like it was worth it?
We did artificial flowers and it was well worth it! I got several compliments on them and it saved us thousands. We did artificial bridesmaid bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages and centerpieces. The only real flowers we had were the ones included in the wedding package.
What were the most helpful online websites/social media groups/content creators/YouTube links that helped you during the planning process?
TikTok’s of the resort were helpful for the guests to get an idea of what it would be like. There is a Facebook page for Majestic Elegance brides that was extremely helpful.
What kind of feedback did you hear from your guests? This could be about the resort, the wedding, and/or EverAfter Travel.
Several of my guests said it was the best vacation of their lives. Our aunt & uncle are back at the resort this week they loved it so much. Everyone was thankful they had Jodi to reach out to with questions regarding travel.
What advice do you have for other couples planning a destination wedding?
Relax and try not to overthink things! One bad review about the resort will not mean everyone will have a poor experience.
What were your favorite parts about your destination wedding?
Our favorite part was spending so much time with our family and friends. Between Jodi and Yirem (onsite wedding coordinator) we did not have to worry about a thing. It was the opposite of stressful.
Is there anything you would change about your destination wedding?
Nothing!!!!!

Jodi was the travel agent for our friends' wedding we attended in 2023 and we loved her! She was reliable, organized and communicative. When we decided on a destination wedding I immediately got in touch with Jodi.

Working with EverAfter Travel made planning our destination wedding so much easier and far less stressful than trying to do everything ourselves.
Jodi was incredibly organized, responsive, and supportive throughout the entire process. She helped coordinate travel for our guests, answered everyone’s questions, and handled many details with the resort, which took a huge weight off our shoulders.
Knowing that someone experienced was managing the logistics allowed us to actually enjoy the planning process instead of feeling overwhelmed.
Everything went so smoothly leading up to and during the wedding, and our guests also commented on how helpful and easy the process was.
I would absolutely recommend EverAfter Travel to other couples planning a destination wedding. Jodi make the process seamless and stress-free, and it gave us so much peace of mind knowing everything was taken care of.
