Kukua Beach Club Wedding Review: Marisa & Humam
Why did you decide to have a destination wedding?
Having a smaller, more intimate wedding at a more affordable price.
What were your biggest concerns about planning a destination wedding? What were you struggling with the most before reaching out to EverAfter Travel?
Trying to coordinate an all-inclusive resort that best fit my guests' needs.
What were your "must haves" for your destination wedding? What were the deciding factors for choosing your resort?
I needed a resort that was family-friendly but specifically had an adults-only section to satisfy all guests. Price and safety were also importance factors.

Tell me about your wedding e.g. events, venues, special touches, etc. How many guests did you invite to your destination wedding and how many people ended up attending? If you're comfortable sharing, how much was the total cost of your destination wedding celebration (not including things like travel expenses, your dress, etc.)?
The wedding was at an off-site venue called Kukua Beach Club. We invited 48 guests and 33 attended. The total cost of the wedding at Kukua alone was about $19,000. We also had a welcome party at the resort (included) and a catamaran boat cruise for guests. Optional activity was Coco Bongo nightclub.
Was there anything you splurged on for your destination wedding and if so, did you feel like it was worth it?
Deciding to have the wedding at an off-site venue was a splurge and more expensive than it would have been at the resort, but it was truly worth every penny.
Was there anything you tried to save on for your destination wedding and if so, did you feel like it was worth it?
I tried to save on my wedding dress, shoes, jewelry, etc. knowing that these were items that would only be worn for a few hours.
What were the most helpful online websites/social media groups/content creators/YouTube links that helped you during the planning process?
WeddingWire for reviews, Pinterest for wedding inspiration pictures, Facebook for Majestic Resort groups and Kukua Brides group.
Shout out to any wedding vendors you loved e.g. photography, DJ, makeup, etc.
Junior Cruz Photography - they had more affordable prices but the quality was amazing, turnaround time was 2 weeks for photos!
Olga Pipich for hair and makeup did a wonderful job, especially in the heat and humidity.

What kind of feedback did you hear from your guests? This could be about the resort, the wedding, and/or EverAfter Travel.
All had positive things to say. The resort was affordable and beautiful, some negative feedback about the food. I was told the food at Kukua was the best wedding dinner they ever had! And EverAfter Travel was responsive and incredibly helpful for guests.
What advice do you have for other couples planning a destination wedding?
Start early and enjoy the process! We were engaged for almost 2 years so had plenty of time to really envision what our perfect wedding would look like without feeling stressed and overwhelmed. By planning early we were able to book all our preferred vendors and find the perfect date of the wedding. Also guests had sufficient notice to start saving/planning for the trip
Is there anything you would change about your destination wedding?
I wish that we had a family/friend officiate instead of the person provided by the resort.
What were your favorite parts about your destination wedding?
Creating new memories with our loved ones.

Why did you choose to work with EverAfter Travel for your destination wedding?
A lot of research and great reviews! But ultimately the fact that EverAfter Travel takes on fewer couples for a more personalized experience.
How did working with EverAfter Travel make planning your Kukua Beach Club wedding easier/better/less stressful? Would you recommend EverAfter Travel to other couples planning a destination wedding?
Jodi's communication made the entire wedding planning process easier with less stress. Especially for certain things I wouldn't have expected - for example sending guests a complete list for packing, reminding about travel insurance and E-ticket, and checking in with guests throughout their stay.
