Dreams Playa Mujeres Wedding Review With Monica & Jesse
Why did you decide to have a destination wedding?
We love to travel, so we’ve always known that we wanted a destination wedding.
What were your biggest concerns about planning a destination wedding? What were you struggling with the most before reaching out to EverAfter Travel?
Our biggest concern was finding the perfect venue. We spent hours reading reviews and watching YouTube videos, but nothing compared to being able to speak to Jodi about our wants and needs.
What were your "must haves" for your destination wedding? What were the deciding factors for choosing your resort?
Our must haves were great food with a variety to choose from, kid friendly but also a connecting resort for adults only, options for excursions, entertainment for all ages, and budget friendly.
Tell me about your wedding e.g. events, venues, special touches, etc. How many guests did you invite to your destination wedding and how many people ended up attending? If you're comfortable sharing, how much was the total cost of your destination wedding celebration (not including things like travel expenses, your dress, etc.)?Â
We had a welcome party on the Pool Terrace. It was a beautiful area with great food and drinks.
Our wedding took place in the Central Garden. A totally different environment from our welcome party which made each event unique and memorable.
Our wedding guest invitation was approximately 150 people with 70 in attendance. Our total cost of the wedding was $22,000, but we got $7000 back from our group concessions.
Was there anything you splurged on for your destination wedding and if so, did you feel like it was worth it?
We splurged on guest experiences which was absolutely worth it. We swam with dolphins, danced during our welcome party, and hired a mariachi band. A lot of our selections even surprised us!
Was there anything you tried to save on for your destination wedding and if so, did you feel like it was worth it?
We tried to save on decorations. The venue was already beautiful, so we didn’t need as many decorations to make the wedding glow.
What were the most helpful online websites/social media groups/content creators/YouTube links that helped you during the planning process?
There was a Fans of Dreams Playa Mujeres Facebook page that was really helpful.
Shout out to any wedding vendors you loved e.g. photography, DJ, makeup, etc.
Photography and videography with Adventure Photos through the venue was exceptional as well as our wedding planner.
What kind of feedback did you hear from your guests? This could be about the resort, the wedding, and/or EverAfter Travel.
The wedding was a blast! The venue was clean and beautiful.
What advice do you have for other couples planning a destination wedding?
It will be hot, so plan for the weather when coordinating outfits and bridal party attire.
What were your favorite parts about your destination wedding?
Interacting with all of my guests and watching them have a good time.
Is there anything you would change about your destination wedding?
No, nothing!
Why did you choose to work with EverAfter Travel for your destination wedding?
We had an hour and a half long conversation with Jodi. She listened to our wants, needs, and concerns while putting our minds at ease. We knew from the beginning that we wanted to work with her.
How did working with EverAfter Travel make planning your Dreams Playa Mujeres wedding easier/better/less stressful?Â
I’m a procrastinator and just thinking about the wedding stressed me out. Working with Jodi, everything was taken care of!
